Casa Suecia is more than a venue, is gastronomy, is your home!
A restaurant in the centre of Madrid, a rooftop terrace and a clandestine cocktail bar
Enjoy the good times, they’re the ones that are remembered
Casa Suecia opened its doors in Madrid in 1956. Being the heart and soul of Swedish community and a meeting point for intellectuals, it became one of the capital’s most emblematic buildings. A particular favorite of Swedish royal visits and the place to be for writers like Cortázar, Sábato or Hemingway. Nowadays Casa Suecia remains its legacy in a space decorated by Lázaro Rosa-Violán.
Best plans at the City
At Casa Suecia we enjoy the good times, they are the ones you remember. Eat. Live. Love. A wide gastronomic proposal where you can enjoy from Monday to Friday (as long as it is a working day) its executive menu in the Lobby Bar, brunch on Saturday and Sunday: Bubble Brunch in the restaurant area and BBQ Brunch on its terrace, on the roof top. And, of course, a carefully selected menu where you can’t miss the God Save the House tasting menu and seasonal dishes as emblematic as the cocido madrileño with the arrival of cold weather. Don’t let them tell you about it!
Life is measured in seconds, but at Casa Suecia these are moments, do you want to enjoy them?
Neither for you nor for me, to share. It is the most special space of Casa Suecia because in its Lobby Bar –with large windows and colonial decoration–, we want you to enjoy all the moments of the day. A menu that includes breakfast and snacks along with a careful selection of coffees, but also a great variety of cocktails and a more informal gastronomic proposal made with top quality raw materials and local products.
*Open every day at 8 am… ¡And so much more!
The word that best defines it is cozy, as if you were in your own home. A decoration project signed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán with wooden tables, upholstered chairs and sofas next to the windows. Truly, an oasis of peace amidst the capital’s bustle available for lunch and dinner, with a semi-private, the library, for more special events.
A gastronomic experience featuring the very best of Mediterranean cuisine, with quality products and products from nearby sources. Our traditional recipes will make you feel like home, your Swedish home.
Overall, accompanied by an incredible wine cellar with more than 100 references.
* Available for lunch and dinner. Closed Sunday afternoon.
Clandestino Cocktail Bar
One of the most underground and exclusive locals in Madrid. In honor of the famous author and inspired by the times of Prohibition. Its secret access –known only to a handful–, reveals a space where time seems to have been frozen. At Clandestino Cocktail Bar you’ll be mesmerized by its Art Deco lamps, vintage mirrors in both walls and tables, red velvet couches, golden finishes and its animal print floor. The bar counter features a XVII century French chapel altarpiece.
* Open every day from 9 pm to closing
With direct lift access and on the 11th floor of the NH Collection Madrid Suecia 5* Hotel, this is one of the most privileged Roof Tops. Divided into two levels, the terrace has one of the most spectacular views of Madrid with a carefully designed decoration and an extensive menu of cocktails and mixed drinks, as well as a selection of snacks. Available for private events, it has an enclosure system for the winter months.
* Open every day from 12:30 pm to closing
